REVIEW: Blaser Photography

Submitted by West Des Moines Mom

You know when people say, "I can't say enough about...[enter name, product, service, business here]?" Well I can't say enough about Blaser Photography. Seriously. I may be a bit biased, simply because owner Paul Blaser and his staff did such an amazing job on our wedding pictures in 2004. Needless to say, there was no question in my mind that I would return to Blaser when we had our first child, which we did, in June 2006.

I should back up and mention that Paul talked me into doing a few maternity shots of my giant belly just a few weeks before I gave birth. It was the middle of the summer, I was perpetually hot, swollen and irritable and yet, somehow, those pictures turned out beautiful. I don't regret it for a second and would highly recommend having it done if you're considering it.

Anyway, just three weeks after our daughter was born, we brought her to the studio for her first photo shoot. Normally, we would have waited until the 3-6-9-12 month pictures but we wanted to be able to send out announcements with photos of the new baby. Paul was our photographer that day and took such great care and attention with Sadie. Being a dad himself, I think he understood just how to handle the baby in a way that would get the best pictures while not ticking her off. What resulted was literally a pile of the most beautiful photos of our new daughter. It was so hard to choose. And her announcements were near perfect and resulted in many, many comments from all who received them.

Now, I won't lie, Blaser Photography is not cheap. It's no Sears, Target or Portrait Innovations. In fact, as much as I would have loved to take Sadie there for all her milestone photos, I just can't afford to do so. Still, we've already reserved her spot for her one year pictures and I have no doubt I'll spend a boatload simply because it's such a big birthday.

I would highly recommend Blaser Photography for whatever photos you need to get taken whether it's your family photos or pictures of your little ones. It's so worth it to have such gorgeous, memorable shots hanging on your walls.
