This place's slogan is "Come for the Food, Stay for the Fun." In our case, it was "Come for the Fun, Stay for the Food," as it was the arcade, not the bar-and-grill-style food that drew us in.
It was a Friday night, so the 20 minute wait wasn't all that bad. But for a mall restaurant, you'd think they might consider more than the 20 or so tables (I didn't count, but I think my estimate is generous) they have in the dining room.
The wait staff was pretty horrendous the night we went, but the girl ended up comping us a margarita because she failed to mention -- when I asked if they had a larger-size margarita than the 6 oz-er she originally brought me -- that the "large" margarita was actually about 100 oz. and smoking with dry ice. It was a monstrocity. My toddler thought it was pretty cool, but I was embarrassed, as the families around me stared like I'd just been brought a flaming ball of poo.
Games are good... no tokens to keep track of, as you get a card to swipe in most of the games. Bathrooms were clean and the changing table was great-sized and not in a stall (bonus!).
Overall, worth a visit, but we probably won't go back anytime soon.
If you thought dinner at Kahunaville was bad--don't even bother with the luncheon buffet. It looked as if it was comprised of leftovers. I went there for lunch today and saw that the pasta salad portion of the buffet must have been made yesterday. No one seemed to bring new pizzas out to the table. To top it off, there's not much of a selection. Those who want an extensive lunch buffet would do better to go to Happy Joe's (where the sandwich specials are smaller, from what I've been told; the sandwiches and wraps that were offered for sale here were too unhealthy.)
This was my second visit to the restaurant. Unless Kahunaville cleans up its act, it will probably be my last.

I know what you mean about the staff. My son and I went for family fun night at Valley West mall and of course I hate; ok dislike arcade type settings. Anyway with his older brother at baseball practice I figured I would make a special night for him and I. Kahunaville has kids eat free on Tues, great I'll spend $6.00 on arcade games since his meal is "free" I always try to reason money spent. I order my food and the staff is running around with their heads cut off..seriosly i've never seen more plates fly by me at that speed, I was afraid to get up without checking to my left and right for fear of knocking a plates out of someones hands. Needless to saw I wasn't crazy about my southwestern wrap and they forgot to give me my salad. As we left I heard a customer telling the manager that his chips in his salad were soggy..must have been a rough night..Yes I did tip my waitress.. I figured I didn't have to pay for my salad...always try to reason money spent...I'll try to avoid that part of the mall from now on.
